FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
- HOW DO I KNOW
IF I HAVE STORM DAMAGE?
Storm damage to your roof
can sometimes be seen from the ground. You may notice raised or
curled shingles, or some shingles that have blown off. However,
it is best to have a trained professional inspect your roof for damage
that you cannot see.
- WHAT PROBLEMS
CAN ARISE FROM STORM DAMAGE?
Storm damage can cause
shingles to crease, which can lead to granule loss. When there
is an absence of granules, there is no protection for the matting from
sunlight. This can cause premature aging, possible leaks, and
mold.

- WILL MY INSURANCE
PREMIUM INCREASE IF I FILE A CLAIM?
Typically your premium
will not increase because the damage to your home is the result
of a natural disaster that has been declared a catastrophe and the events
causing your damage were beyond your control.
- WHAT IS MY TIME
FRAME FOR FILING A CLAIM?
Most insurance companies
have a limited claim period. Typically, if you have not filed
a claim and had all repairs completed within one year, they are not
required to fully indemnify you for your loss. You should file
a claim as soon as possible to make certain that all work will be
completed before the insurance deadline and to prevent any additional
damage.
- DO I NEED TO
GET TWO OR MORE ESTIMATES?
It is not necessary
to get additional estimates. Bison Roofing is experienced in working with all insurance companies and will make
sure that you will not pay anything out of pocket except your deductible.
If a contractor gives you an estimate for less than the pricing determined
by your insurance provider, you will not receive the difference; if
we determine the repairs cost more that the pricing determined by your
insurance provider, we will work with your insurance company to make
sure they cover any additional costs.
We offer a free, no obligation
inspection by trained professionals to determine the scope of your storm
damage. We will meet with your adjustor and work with your insurance
company to ensure all necessary damages are covered by your carrier.
